Chicken pox

Posted by editor

A highly contagious disease which is manifested in numerous small and itchy circular lesions around the body, Chicken pox is one of the most common diseases that kids can get.

While chicken pox is rarely fatal, it is actually recommended that you get the disease while young, as it is decidedly more severe if contracted in adulthood. Often times, once you get chicken pox, you don’t get it anymore in your lifetime.

Your kids can actually get chicken pox just by touching a lesion or blister. After the sickness’ incubation period of about 10-12 days, the itchy rashes and blisters appear, the top of which is filled with liquid. This lasts for about five days to a week, and is most infectious to others during the end stage. You may apply anti-itching cream to alleviate the itchiness, and should maintain proper hygiene so the blisters to not burst and get infected.
